How it works

1

You print it

Two PDFs to print at home: 7 double-sided sheets for the 24 cards, 3 sheets for the quiz and the diploma. Cut along the dotted lines: ten minutes.

2

One card every morning

Your child colours the drawing, then you turn the card over: “Did you know?”, “Your turn to play”, “Extra challenge” for the older ones, and the word of the day.

3

On the 24th, the big quiz

Twelve questions on everything learned over 24 days, then the apprentice beekeeper diploma, with the child's name on it.

One card, two sides

Postcard size. The drawing on one side, the hive on the other.

Front of the day 2 card: the queen, a drawing to colour
Front: the drawing to colour. Clean lines, a white background, and room for colours.
Back of the day 2 card: did you know, your turn to play, extra challenge, word of the day
Back: four moments.
  • Did you know? What we learn today, in three sentences.
  • Your turn to play. A game with no equipment, or almost: a paper crown, a hidden object, a dance.
  • Extra challenge. For the 8 to 10 year olds: a sum, a search, an observation.
  • Word of the day. To remember for the quiz on the 24th.

Who is behind Bzzz?

Bzzz is made in Switzerland by Christophe Guyondet, from a bee workshop prepared for a class of 6 to 8 year olds. The card games come from there: the queen's crown, the dance that tells where the flowers are, the smell of the family. The texts tell children the truth, in simple words.

Frequently asked questions

How do I receive the calendar?

As soon as you pay, Gumroad sends you a download link: two PDF files, the 24 cards (14 pages) and the quiz with the diploma (3 pages). Nothing is posted, you print at home.

What do I need?

A printer (colour or black and white: the drawings are black line art), 7 sheets of paper for the cards and 3 for the quiz, scissors and coloured pencils. The files are A4; on US Letter, choose “fit to page” and both sides stay aligned. Slightly thicker paper (160 to 200 g) holds better in small hands; ordinary paper works too.

Can I print it more than once?

Yes, as many times as you like for your family or your class, this year and the years to come. Brothers and sisters share the same calendar: print the front as many times as there are children. What is not allowed: passing the file on, publishing it or reselling it.

My child is 4? 11?

At 4, colouring and playing with an adult work very well, the text is just a little long. At 11, the extra challenges stay interesting, but the tone is written for 5 to 10 year olds.

What if we start after 1 December?

The cards are numbered, not dated. Open two a day to catch up, or keep the calendar for another time of the year: bees don't care about the date.

Is there honey to taste?

Three cards invite you to taste the honey from your kitchen, no obligation. No honey before the age of 1; with a known allergy to hive products, ask your doctor before any tasting.

How do I pay?

By card or PayPal, on Gumroad, the official merchant of the sale. The price is shown in euros; Gumroad shows the equivalent in your currency and your bank converts at the day's rate. The invoice arrives by email.
